West Alabama Aero Modelers (WAAM) was founded in 1976 and is a charter member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and the International Miniature Aircraft Association (IMAA). Our club is dedicated to the hobby of Remote Controlled flying by promoting and enjoying all types of model airplane activity.

WAAM members derive much relaxation and satisfaction through model airplane building and flying. It molds personalities, teaches discipline and patience, stimulates knowledge and organizational skills, and creates the desire to achieve worthwhile goals.
